We at Amrita Vidyalayam Cheruthuruthy welcomed our new buds on Wednesday. Teachers beautifully decorated the stage with ribbons and balloons. Older students welcomed the KG and Std I students with “Arati“, sprinkled sacred water on them, applied sandal tilak on their foreheads and gave them sweets. To make them happy, we decorated a welcome frame and took photos of each one as a memento of their first day. The Principal, along with KG teachers lit the lamp, following which a very informative speech was delivered by the Principal. The older students also performed dances to welcome the tiny stars. Writing initiation was also performed in the traditional way by our teachers. The Principal distributed saplings to each and told them to look after it properly, name it and treat it as their friend. The children enjoyed the day by having “Prasadam” and playing with toys that were arranged for them. Finally, KG teachers introduced themselves and talked to the parents.
